The other night I was talking with Fritzyl about character name meansings and just wondered if anyone had anything interesting meanings behind their names. Since I'm a huge nerd, I've got names with meanings for most my characters. In ancient Egyptian society, isfet is the state of chaos and disorder that happens when the pharaohs didn't please the gods. My last name, Ammit, is the name of the little hybrid beast that waits in the underworld to see if the deceased's soul passes judgement to pass into the paradise realm..If they don't pass, he gobbles them up
My choppa is Klesha, which is another word for bad karma. My BG is Dvesha, the Buddhist god of anger. My Dok Sinvena has no meaning and is just a name from EQ1
I got the name "Gallina Bloodrose" from a Dark Elf name gen online somewhere. It actually gave me Kalina but that was taken, so I changed it around a bit....
My squig herder is wargit and that is just a Warhammer-friendly name I came up with.
I'm not very "original" per say, as my friend said, I'm surprised I didn't just go with Thorhammer or something.. maybe if I make a Chosen.

Well let's see...Sikar is my wiccan name chosen out of the Witches Law Read. My last name Bloodstone came from a guild member who showed me where to go in IC to get a last name for my toon.
My name first and last was my Jedi's name in SWG Nockura Ozuma, the full name in SWG is NockuraOzuma SilentiaDeatzura the last name is a spin of my CS name Silent Death. I wanted to have an oriental sounding name so I use the name generator till I found something I liked then put my spin on it.
My first choice (and the name I had in beta) was Egrimm from the warhammer fantasy character Egrimm VanHorstmann a very Powerful Tzeentch Chosen who rode a 2 headed Dragon. My maurader is Chrom which is changed from Crom the conqueror another Fantasy char, My magus and zealot also are named form Warhammer chars.
They won't let the exact names be used so I put my spin on it.
Let's see. This may be telling way too much info about me... let's see where it goes. I'm not entirely sure how interesting it'll be. :)
This is going to be long, I'll go ahead and put all of my recent (last 10 years or so) names that I can remember.
Originally, I started playing EQ as chodemies (yeah), and Graar. After that account was no longer mine, I created an ogre named Bumpin.
Chodemies, comes from my old quake nickname - chode. This was the first mmorpg that I played that I wanted to take seriously, so a friend suggested I change it or add to it to make it sound more medieval or something. I really don't know what made me think that this would be medieval, but there you go. This name never made a return appearance after EQ.
Graar, just sounded like a cool growling ogre name to me. I've used that in a few games.
Bumpin (also an ogre), I think came from a combination of things. Mostly a big fat guy bumping people out of the way. Though I never had a last name for this guy in EQ many suggestions were provided. Uglies, Thenight, etc etc. Some were more clever than others.
Penetrate was my nightshade's name in Daoc. I think it was just on the idea that I'd be stabbing people.
Wreckage was my berserker. Cause you know what zerkers did... they messed people up.
Sinic (spanned across multiple games), I've used since wow beta. I think it spawned out of a combination of sinner and cynic. I'm probably not going to use it again though, because somehow it seems to be that others have this name and I'd like to be unique.
Cenno came from me trying to spell sin differently. I'm not entirley sure how the "no" got on there. Once I started playing the character I realized that Bite/Byte would be a good last name. As in a cenobite (hellraiser). -though, someone thought I was someone they knew from a different game too. so, i'll most likely not use this one again either. unless of course another game forces me to play a half naked female character.
I've had tons of other names here and there, but these are the ones I can think of offhand.
Okay... Maybe it wasn't all that long.

I think it's interesting to see what peoples' thoughts were behind their names, or if they're just randomized. Either way, I like learning things I might not have known
Sorry I haven't been on as much lately but I have senior leaders course for the past 3 weeks. Well my first choice of names was Prowler, a long time game name of mine until people thought it sounded good and took it. It comes from Iron Maidens first CD First song Prowler. I have used that name since 1996 but recently everyone else seems to get it before me, so i decided to get a name no one would have or think of, Zpak.
I have used Zpak for about 3 years now, Mostly with games like battlefield, Rainbow Six, and Call of Duty, and it means Azithromycin. This is an antiboitic for upper respitory infections and it works great. I am a combat medic in the Army so it fits and no one has this name for now.
Booser is well straight forward, I'm a booser. That is just what happens in my line of work.
Any other name you see of mine is usually a medication of some sort or just made up out of the clear blue sky.

I have no meanings for my names~ la I did have a char named leviathanz for the longest on EQ...got the name from a dragon in the bible...then ppl kept complaining so much that my name was to long to type out...so i switched to Jettz....was called aj / jettz alot in High school..so just stuck on me. since my last name is Jettie~ and now i got a couple chars named fii / fye....and u know where i'm going with that...fii fye fo fum..anyways..pce~
